There is a day I can see. There is a day you'll walk next to me
And we'll go hand in hand and write out every plan
We'll dream up our whole life to see things go a different way

But we'll adapt and we'll mend and you'll accept the thinning hair on my head
You'll think how it's so sweet how age with its swift feet
Has made me creak and moan of how I've gotten so old

And we'll see Paris and Rome or maybe we'll just read about them at home

And we'll take naps and we'll dream and when we wake we'll raid heaven's pantry
Up where no stomach's ache from all the food we ate
I don't think God will mind, everyone's heaven is different
