‘New Beginning’ sees BOREAL SUN channel West African influences into a utopian tale of endless possibilities and opportunities to flourish. The optimistic lyrical tone is mirrored by uplifting melodies, the dancing flute of Gareth Lockrane, impressive, flowing horn arrangements and the driving percussion of djembe master Yahael Camara Onono (Balimaya Project). ‘Like all BOREAL SUN tunes, New Beginning started life as an instrumental. In advance of our lyric writing session, Liselotte and I both independently wrote down key words/themes that we wanted to include. To our surprise, when we met, we had written down the same words and lyrics themes. Themes of a new beginning, a fresh start. Cherish the moment, don’t wait, follow your dreams even though they are impossible. “walk on water, touch the sky’... Dreams that are coming true!’
