Ashley Ballat is a young emerging artist working as a trumpet player and composer in Melbourne, excited to share her debut recording. In 2020-2021 she worked with an incredible mentor, the renowned Australian jazz guitarist Stephen Magnusson, to create an album online over the COVID-19 lockdown period. Together they composed and recorded a collection of ethereal melodies that ring over a warm sonic landscape. Through shades of timbre, layers of overdubs and fluid improvisation, emerges Web.

Ashley Ballat is a Melbourne/Naarm based emerging artist working as a trumpet player and composer. Her passion lies in exploring collective improvisation that builds upon sound manipulation, layered textures, and the collision of eclectic musical genres. Her compositions and ensemble approach are greatly influenced by the music of Arve Henriksen, Erik Honore, Björk, Kate Bush and Bon Iver.
